Bruce Benderson's The Romanian

Mark your calendars - Bruce Benderson will be reading from his new book, The Romanian, across the country (see below). The Romanian was translated into French and published in France last year, winning the prestigious Prix de Flore, a prize normally given to French authors only - Bruce is the first American writer to win it, and for good reason. It's a great book on many levels and it'll be out in couple of weeks (Penguin-Viking). I recommend you all get the book and go to a reading, if you can:

Dear Tsipi,

I'm new to blogging, had entered Two Serious Ladies among my favorite books, and was curious to see who else on the site might have entered it as well. When I saw "all of Fellini" on the list of favorite movies I knew this was a blog that I should be reading. I'll start by one-clicking The Romanian from Amazon right away, and I'll keep checking back.

Yours in Jane Bowles,
